WELL-BRED three-year-old Steps To Stardom will head to the paddock before returning for the Sydney autumn after breaking through at her fourth career start.
Ridden by Damian Browne, the Stratum filly started $1.50 favourite and won accordingly for Kendrick Racing.
Back to maiden company and up to the mile, she was untroubled in scoring by more than four lengths on Sunday, October 19.
"She is a very nice filly," said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"She will spell now and be aimed at the staying filly races over the Sydney autumn,'' he said.
"She is very well bred, being a half-sister to Pillar Of Hercules.
"We purchased her at the Sydney Ready To Run Sales."
Steps To Stardom ran fourth on debut back in September over the unsuitable distance of 1000m and has improved every start since.
She finished runner-up over 1200m at her next start and then ran a good third in a handy 3YO Benchmark 70 (1400m) behind Fire Within.
The winner that day had finished third behind Steps To Stardom's stablemate Thief Of Hearts in metropolitan company at his previous start.
That form stacked up well for Steps To Stardom's maiden assignment.
