TAKEWING recorded his first win on the Kensington track today after a number of minor placing's. TAKEWING broke his maiden status by taking out the 1550m More Than Ready 3yo Maiden Handicap ran on a Slow 6 track by 0.8 lengths.

Passatorio Salutes At The Sunshine Coast

TOWNSVILLE owner-breeder Dalan Tamblyn and Sunshine Coast trainer Stuart Kendrick have formed a formidable combination.

Three-year-old gelding Passatorio, a winner at Caloundra third-up from a spell, is the latest Kendrick-trained galloper to salute wearing the yellow and black and white check colours of Tamblyn.

Others have included Tambo's Jewel, Lightfeet Lady and three-year-old filly Queen Caesar.

Sari Wins Well For Darby

KENDRICK Racing is keen to chase some black-type races with well-bred mare Sari after the latest Darby Racing success story's winning Brisbane debut.

Darby Racing paid $53,000 for the Exceed and Excel four-year-old, out of Snippets mare Anivara, at the recent Darly dispersal sale.

"She'll be a good breeding proposition down the track,'' said Kendrick Racing trainer Stuart Kendrick.

"Even if she can pick up some placings in winter carnival black-type races it will add to her value as a broodmare,'' he said.

On The Path To The Guineas

THREE-YEAR-OLD filly Snitzel's Jewel may be Gold Coast Guineas bound after making an immediate impact at her Queensland debut.

Having her first run for Kendrick Racing, Snitzel's Jewel ($4.80) struck in a midweek city race at Doomben on April 2, despite jumping from barrier 11.

"It was a terrific win at her first outing since coming up from Sydney,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

Iron Jacket Leads All The Way

THREE-YEAR-OLD Iron Jacket has shown he loves to dictate a race from the front.

Those tactics helped him bounce back to winning form in a Class 2 (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast on March 30.

"It was good to see him return to the winner's circle," said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

The ATC Golden Slipper Carnival at Rosehill Gardens kicked off on Saturday with the running of the Bacardi Maurice McCarten Quality Stakes over 1100m at Group 3 level. After being a late scratching on the morning of the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington 2 weeks ago, VA PENSIERO went into the 1100m Group 3 event today with that setback a slight concern. It took a race record time of 1.03.75 set be KENCELLA to beat VA PENSIERO, who ran a gallant 2nd.

GENKI MOOCHI broke back into the winners circle today, when taking out the 1400m Tooheys BM60 Handicap at Newcastle. Going into his 4th run this preparation, and stepping up in distance from 1200m to 1400m, GENKI MOOCHI travelled in the lead and never gave his rivals a chance, scoring a decisive victory.

Impala Makes It Ten

CONNECTIONS of six-year-old Impala are ecstatic after the consistent gelding brought up his 10th career win.

And there looks like there may be more victories in store after the triumph in the Con and Jenny Searle Bench Mark 75 Handicap (1060m) at Kilcoy on March 20.

"He's rising seven but his first few runs back this campaign have showed he's in as good a form as ever,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick said.

"It was pleasing to see him notch that 10th win.  We've had him for all of his career starts and it was certainly well deserved,'' he said.

21.02.14 - PRICE WAR has promised plenty but finally delivered her first victory today in the 1600m Sunsolutions Maiden Handicap at Goulburn.

From barrier 12, the daughter of WAR PASS went back in the field to try and find cover.

Peter Wells did not have a lot of luck early and said he never really got in to the position he wanted to.
